JAMESTOWN — Bernard "Buck" Burton Buchanan, 77, resident of Forestdale Dr., died Tuesday, March 17, 2009, at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital, Greensboro.

Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Thursday, March 19, at the Chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service, High Point. Interment will follow in Guilford Memorial Park Cemetery, Greensboro.

Mr. Buchanan was born July 10, 1931, in Bradley County, Tenn., a son to Hall Ural & Pauline Little Buchanan. He was a veteran having served in the U.S. Air Force. A resident of this area 35 years, he attended Parkwood Baptist Church and was an industrial engineer.

In 1955, he married the former Sylvia Payne who survives of the home. Also surviving are three daughters, Celia Hunter and husband, Allen, of Greensboro, Lora Hill of Greensboro and Elaine Hinds and husband, Eric, of Orlando, Fla.; one sister, Barbara Barker of Athens, Tenn.; three grandchildren, Stephen Ryan Sharpe, Andrew Hill and Philip Hill all of Greensboro.
