Curtis Gillis was born June 27, 1947 to Charles Edward and Alma Virginia Gillis in Bristow, Oklahoma. He departed this life Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at the age of 65 years and 8 months.

He graduated from Bristow High School in 1965 and later graduated from OSU Tech. He served in the United States Army and fought in the Vietnam War. He received a purple heart as well as a bronze star.

On September 13, 1969 Curtis Gillis and Sharon Cruce were united in marriage. From this union was born one son, Chad. He worked managed many businesses in his career including Miss Elaine's Garment factory and Fashion Craft. His last employment was supervising the courier department for Tulsa Medical Labs. He enjoyed bowling, shooting guns and building models with his grandson, and working on old cars. He will be missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister, Karen Burgess.

Memorial services are scheduled for 10:00 AM, Saturday, March 9, 2013 at the Hutchins-Maples Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at the Bristow City Cemetery.
