Susan was married to Henry C. Cruse on 19 August 1794 by Pastor Carl August Gottlieb Storch in the Organ Lutheran Church in Salisbury, Rowan Co., NC. She and Henry moved to Daviess County, IN., in 1816 and then moved to Marion County in 1820 where they lived for several years. In 1830 they moved to Clay Twp., Hamilton Co., Indiana. Later they lived successively in Montgomery and Tazewell counties, Ill. Her husband Henry died on the Mackinaw river when he was sixty-five years of age. Susan lived out her lengthy life with a son Solomon and a daughter Lavina in Indianapolis, Marion Co., IN. Susan was the mother of 10 children.
