Son of Henry C. Cruse & Susan Kress

Absolom was one of ten children born to Henry C. Cruse and Susanna Cress (Kressin). He was first married to Rebecca McCoy on 9 Feb 1824 in Marion Co., Indiana. From this union were born 11 children. Next he married Elizabeth Himes on 6 Sep 1853 in Salem, Marion Co., Illinois, and from this union were born 7 children. His third wife was Jane Nix Castleberry whom he married in 1869. From this union 3 children were born. Absolom was a farmer.


He was one of the first settlers on Walnut Creek in Parker County.
