Ada graduated from North East High School in 1940. She was formerly employed in the school cafeteria for seven years and Burton and Johnson Insurance Agency for 14 years. Ada was a member of the First Baptist Church in North East, formerly active in Cub Scouts and food pantry and was a secretary for the Chamber of Commerce. She enjoyed crocheting, reading, gardening, taking long walks, traveling with her husband and playing cards with friends.
In addition to her parents, Ada was preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, Eugene Douglas in 2012; daughters, Beverly Dunham Nelson and Joanne Muscarella; and brothers, Russell, Ross and Merle Hopkins.
She is survived by her son, John Douglas (Christine) of North East; sisters, Mabel Vance Tustin of Tuscon, Arizona, Verla Riefstahl of North East; grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.
Interment at North East Cemetery.
