"Spence" went to Colorado as a gold miner and then to Alaska in 1905 as a gold dredging engineer until 1918. He came in first in a dog sled race in Alaska. Married to Catherine in Alaska, 10/18/1910. Settled in Union City and was a successful poultry raiser (over 800 chickens at their place). Republican in politics and member of the Christian Scientist Church. On Nov. 11, 1932 they moved to the Wayside Inn Odd Fellows Home, Grove City, PA.
