Mrs. Matilda "Tillie" Chanley, 83, died at 11 a.m. today at her home at Jamestown.
Mrs. Chanley was born in Greene County Aug. 2, 1889, the daughter of Wilson and Mae Price Moody. The family resided southwest of Linton until about 15 years ago when they moved to Jamestown. Her husband, Edgar J. Chanley, to whom she married Oct. 16, 1916, died Dec. 15, 1969.
Survivors include two sons, Edgar E., Jamestown, and Wayne T., Linton; six grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren, and a brother, Curt Moody, Linton.
Funeral services will be held at the Welch and Cornett Funeral Home at 10:30 a.m. Thursday with Rev. Harlan Kincade officiating and burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Wednesday.
