CARTHAGE, Mo. -
Connie Sue Fortner, 51 of Jasper, passed away at 2 p.m., Wednesday, March 11, 2009, at Carthage Health and Rehabilitation.
She was born on June 29, 1957.
Connie was the daughter of Jimmie and Yvonne "Goodman" Fortner. She worked as an advertising executive for firms in Springfield and St. Louis. Connie then returned to school and received her teaching certificate to teach first grade. She was born a raised in Carthage and lived in the Jasper area. She returned to Carthage about a year ago due to illness.
She was a member of the Swanse First Baptist Church in Shiloh, Ill.
She is survived by her parents, Jimmy and Yvonne Fortner, of Jasper, three aunts and one uncle.
Graveside services will be 3 p.m., Sunday March 15, 2009, at the Paradise Cemetery, Jasper Mo.
Visitation will be from 1-2:30 p.m., Sunday, March 15, 2009, at Ulmer Funeral Home Chapel.
Contributions may be made to the Community Hospice of Joplin, c/o Ulmer Funeral Home.
Arrangements are under the direction of Ulmer Funeral Home.
