Carol was raised on Cape Cod and was a 1963 graduate of Dennis-Yarmouth Regional High School, where she was a Red Cross Girl and a member of Rainbow.

She was a legal secretary for many years before taking time off to raise her family. For the last 13 years, she was a medical secretary at Yarmouth Medical Center.
