Longtime Cape resident; avid sailor

Hyannis - Stephen H. Frostholm Sr., 61, died at home in the care of Hospice & Palliative Care of Cape Cod, on Jan. 3, 2007, after a courageous year-long battle with pancreatic cancer.

Steve was raised in West Yarmouth and graduated from Dennis-Yarmouth High School. He was employed by ComElectric for 35 years, where he served a term as president of Local 339 of the Brotherhood of Utility Workers of New England.

He was an avid lifelong sailor, and was the chair of the one-design committee at the Hyannis Yacht Club. He was a strong supporter of one-design sailboats, and served a term as president of the New England Beetle Cat Boat Association.

He was an active member of the Federated Church of Hyannis, serving on many committees, teaching Sunday school, co-leading the youth group, and ultimately serving as president of the church.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Steve's memory are requested to the Lustgarten Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research, 1111 Stewart Ave., Bethpage, NY 11714, or www.lustgarten.org.
