SPRINGDALE - Charles Robert Bunch, 79, of Springdale, died July 6, 2011, at his home.

He was born March 18, 1932, at Kingston, Ark., the son of Frank Carter and Grace Bolinger Bunch. He had retired from the United States Postal Service and operated an income tax service in Springdale for many years.

He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the United States Air Force, a graduate of the University of Arkansas and a fan of Razorback football and basketball and the St. Louis Cardinals.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandson.

Survivors include his wife, Lou Davis Bunch, of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert N. and Juanita Bunch of Springdale, Ark., and James and Janice Bunch of Lowell, Ark.; two stepdaughters, Melissa Blythe of Springdale, Ark., and Twila Ledford of Bella Vista, Ark.; two grandsons, Chad Bunch and Josh Bunch, both of Springdale, Ark.; three granddaughters, Amber Bunch, Kaylie Blythe and Morgan Blythe, all of Springdale, Ark.; three great-granddaughters, Kaylee Bunch, Michenzy Bunch and Krista Bunch, all of Springdale, Ark.; and his best friend and loyal companion, Sophie.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today, July 8, in the chapel of Brashears Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jim Spurlock officiating. Interment will be in the Alabam Cemetery, under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home, www.brashearsfuneralhome.net, of Huntsville, Ark. Pallbeaerers will be Gene Springston, Tyler Harrell, Carroll Campbell, David Drake, Charlie Guist and Jim Davis. Honorary pallbearers will be Terry Woodard, Gerald Frisby and Dr. Tom Whiting.
