Harold R. Irwin, 79, of 5969 Cherry Valley Road, LaFayette, passed away at home.
Mr. Irwin was owner and operator of Harold R. Irwin Excavating and Contracting Co. and developer of Winacres Tract in LaFayette, between Route 11 and Sentinel Heights Road.
Mr. Irwin was born in LaFayette. The family farm was formerly on the site of what is now the LaFayette High School.
A charter member of LaFayette Volunteer Fire Department, he was a former trustee and an elder of Columbian Presbyterian Church in LaFayette.
Harold was predeceased by his wife Eva.
He was survived by a son, Robert; a daughter, Joyce Carpenter; and eight granddaughters.
