Estella M. Arnold, 88, of Lafayette and Newport Richey, FL, died Thursday at Community General Hospital. She was born in Almond, NY, the daughter of Archie and Pearl (Harvey) Makeley. She was an Elementary School Teacher for 25 years, retiring in 1975 from Rockwell Elementary School. She was a member of Columbian Presbyterian Church and was an avid quilter and reader. Estella is survived by her husband of 65 years, Alton E. Arnold; two sons, Gary L. (Sheila) Arnold of Tucson, AZ and David A. (Teresa) Arnold of Syracuse; two daughters, Nancilu (Leland) Emery of Avon and Marcia B. (Don) Evans of LaFayette; one brother, Staryl "Jiggs" Makeley of Newport, TN; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one niece and one great-niece. Services will be Monday, 11 a.m. at Columbian Presbyterian Church, corner of Route 20 and Route 11, LaFayette. Burial will be in LaFayette Rural Cemetery.
