Kathryn Sancimino Hodson, 84, of LaFayette, died Sunday, May 9, 2004, at University Hospital. She was born in Brooklyn, NY, and was a resident of LaFayette since 1953. She had worked as a seamstress in Brooklyn prior to her marriage. She was predeceased by an infant son Joseph in 1960 and a granddaughter Sara-Jean Hodson in 1986. Survived by her husband Ralph, whom she married May 6, 1945; three daughters, Mary Lou (David) Caples of Liverpool, Kathy Gerber of Syracuse, and Rose (Dennis) Lundy of LaFayette; five sons, Ralph Jr. (Carleen) of Baldwinsville, Tom (Sandra) of Liverpool, Paul (Debra) of Saratoga Springs, NY, Patrick (Mary Jean) of Baldwinsville, and John (Diane) of Middle Grove; 18 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church in LaFayette and one of the original pie bakers for the apple festival until the present. She was a member of the Women of St. Joseph's, an election inspector for the LaFayette Districts, and a member of the Retired and Veteran Railroad Retirees Association. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Services: Wednesday, 9 a.m. at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home, LaFayette and 10 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church, 6136 Cherry Valley Turnpike, LaFayette. Burial: St. Mary's Cemetery, DeWitt. Calling hours Tuesday, 3 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home, 2584 Field Lane. Contributions: LaFayette Ambulance, c/o LaFayette Fire Department, Route 11, LaFayette, NY 13084.
