Shawn T. Kays, 29, of 585 Strong Road, Tully, died Saturday from injuries suffered in a motor vehicle accident. Born in Cortland, he graduated from Chittenango High School. He worked at Tracey Road Equipment for the past 2 1/2 years. He was a volunteer firefighter for Tully Hose Company for 11 years and was an emergency medical technician for Tully Ambulance Corps. He was a member of the
Onondaga County Firemen's Association and the Onondaga County Underwater Search and Rescue Team. His father, Warren, died in 1978.

Survivors: His wife of five years, the former Colleen Hoose; a daughter, Skylar at home; a son, Zachary at home; his mother, Sandra Kays of Tully; a sister, Carlene Sickmon of Tully; a brother, Todd VanDewerker of Las Vegas, NV.
Services: 12:45 pm Thursday at Farone & Son Funeral Home and 1:30 pm in the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. Burial, St. Mary's Cemetery. Calling hours, 3 to 8 pm Wednesday at the funeral home, 1500 Park St., Syracuse.
