Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 24, at Forbis & Dick North Elm Chapel with Rev. Charles Zimmerman officiating. Interment will follow at Guilford Memorial Park.
Maude Carter Hayden Huffines was born in Pittsylvania County, Va., January 24, 1907, the daughter of Henry Clay Hayden and Mary Frances Hoyle Hayden. Maude was a member of First Lutheran Church of Greensboro for over 60 years. She attended the weekly Face Out meetings as long as her health permitted and was a member of the Friday Morning group who did the church bulletins. Mrs. Huffines was office manager for Ham Coal Company.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, William Oscar Lippard in 1942 and George Huffines in 1967; her son, William F. Lippard Sr.; her great-granddaughter, Christina Keck; six sisters and two brothers.
Mrs. Huffines is survived by her daughter-in-law, Jean P. Lippard of Greensboro; three grandchildren, William F. Lippard Jr. and wife, Christina P. of Gibsonville, Robert David
Lippard and wife, Jacqueline of Clayton and Ann L. Cogdill and husband, Ed of Raleigh; five great grandchildren, Melissa K. Jones, Cobey G. Cox, Nathan G. Lippard, Stephanie Cogdill and Jonathan Cogdill and one great-great grandson, Ean Samuel Jones.
