Lila was born on Sept. 3, 1910, in Greenville, SC, the daughter of Clarence D. and Sallie Ballinger Barton. She was a member of Bessemer Baptist Church and taught the eight year old Sunday School Class. She was employed until retirement with Ruth's Ladies Clothing in downtown Greensboro, NC.
Lila was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Waldo Barton and sister, Beatrice. Surviving are her brother, Charles D. Barton Sr. and wife Patricia; nephews; Charles D. Barton Jr. and wife Bobbie and Michael Y. Barton and wife Lynn, all of Kernersville, NC. and three great nieces and three great nephews.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Friday at Hanes Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel.
