Hall of fame Professional Baseball Player. He was a native of Cuba and a pitcher who played from 1907 to 1926 with several teams in the Cuban and Negro Professional Baseball Leagues. Known for his time with the Almendares club, the Cuban Stars, All Nations, and Kansas City Monarchs, he was elected to the Cuban Baseball Hall of Fame in 1939, and the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 2006 upon the recomendation of the Committee on African-American Baseball.
