Sailing from Rotterdam in mid-1709, they are believed to have first gone to London, and by late 1710, landed in New York. The fifth, sixth and seventh of their children died before arriving; their 8th child, Alexander (1710-1759/60), was born and baptized aboard the ship, "Medford". He is the common ancestor to the Peter Osborne Lowrance, Sr. line.
The spelling of the family name was changed to Lowrance after arrival in America. Johannes and Anna were buried in Peapack, N.J.
After 1745, Alexander and his brother, John, moved to North Carolina. Alexander and his wife, Mary Evelan, had eight children including Peter (1736-1772). Alexander purchased 624 acres in Rowan County for 100 pounds, and was killed by Indians three years later, around 1759.
Not much is known about Alexander's son Peter, except that in 1764, he married Elizabeth Bridges and they had four children: Daniel, Abraham, Jacob and Isaac. Peter and Elizabeth were buried in Rowan County - location unknown.
