The "West Yorkshire, England, Church of England Baptisms, Marriages and Burials, 1512-1812" register says he was baptized on 23 Jun 1560 in Birstall, Metropolitan Borough of Kirklees, West Yorkshire, England (St. Peter Church).

Informant: Karen Kelton (#47097614

As stated in the bio, the "West Yorkshire . . . Baptisms" record for Robert Batte gives the date of his baptism as 23 June 1560, but the original document, as shown in the photograph provided along with the record, gives the date as 06 July 1560 ("the vi'th day of Julie"). The reason for the mistake in the record is that the date given in the immediately preceding line of the registry for the baptism of "Elizabeth the daughter of Thomas Sharpe," which is, "the xxiii'rd day of June," was transcribed and copied into the record instead of the correct date for Robert Batte.
