PIONEER WOMAN DIES EARLY TODAY; FUNERAL MONDAY
"Mrs. August Belling, aged 82, came here when the city was known as Jenny.
Mrs. August Belling, 82, of 1600 East Sixth Street, died this morning at 6:25 o'clock at her home. She had been ill for the past three weeks.
Mrs. Belling was born April 27, 1861 in Parlin, Germany and came to this country when she was 26 years old, settling in Merrill, then known as Jenny."
Auguste married Herman Belling on November 15, 1886 in Merrill. Together they had six children: Amanda, Gustave, Herbert, Else, Lydia and Erwin.
