Evelyn Sense, 89, of Wausau, died Monday, Oct. 20, 2008, at Colonial Manor Medical and Rehabilitation Center, Wausau.
Evelyn was born Oct. 18, 1919, in the town of Weston to the late Gustave and Emma (Giese) Tesch. Evelyn was baptized Nov. 22, 1919, in the town of Weston by the Rev. J.J. Meyer. She married Marvin Steffen on Nov. 1, 1941, in the town of Maine. Marvin preceded her in death March 21, 1971. She married Albert Sense on Sept. 29, 1978, in the town of Stettin. Albert preceded her in death March 28, 1998.
Evelyn has been a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, town of Stettin, since 1941. Evelyn and her first husband, Marvin, farmed in the town of Stettin for 30 years. She worked for the Wausau Daily Herald from 1972 until 1979. Evelyn was a former member of the Berlin-Hamburg Lion's Club and treasurer of the Trinity Lutheran Church Ladies Aid, town of Stettin. Evelyn was a current member of the Trailmates Snowmobile Club.
Survivors include one stepdaughter, Danielle Sense of Fort Myers, Fla.; one stepson, Dean Sense, and one stepgrandson, Noah Sense, both of Los Angeles. She was blessed with many close friends and relatives.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. today, Oct. 24, 2008, at the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, town of Stettin. The Rev. Clarence Gall will officiate. Burial will be in Stettin Christian Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of services today at the church.
