Clyde G. Hellwig, age 89, passed away on Wednesday, May 23, 2012 in Bradenton Florida.

He was born on December 2, 1922 in Brokaw, Wisconsin, son of the late George and Rose Hellwig.

He graduated from Wausau High school in 1941.

He married Shirley Mae Rohlf on September 25, 1943.

He enlisted in the Army Air Corp in 1943 and returned to Fond du Lac, Wisconsin when the war ended.

He was employed by Giddings & Lewis Machine Tool Company for 31 years, living in New York, Atlanta, and Chicago. He retired in 1983 as Vice President of Regional Sales.

After Shirley's death, he married Johanna Perkins on July 16, 1984. Clyde divided his retirement years between his lake home in northern Wisconsin and his winter residence in Bradenton, Florida.

In his younger years he enjoyed hunting and fishing and piloted his Cessna aircraft from Fond du Lac to northern Wisconsin on weekends. He was a talented artist and painted many pictures throughout the years. Clyde was a longtime member of the Masons.

He is survived by his wife Johanna; one daughter, Julie Hellwig (James Zedler) of Fond du Lac, Wisconsin; two sons, James (Mary Ann) Hellwig of Plymouth, Wisconsin; David (Kay) Hellwig of Lilburn, Georgia; Four stepchildren, Gary (Carol) Perkins of Edgerton, Wisconsin; Donna (Jim) Pratt of Avon, Colorado; Rita (Larry) Kiefer of Waterloo, Iowa; Michelle Hittinger of Hudson, Minnesota; one sister, Veryl Cronce of Wausau, Wisconsin; 19 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Friday, June 1st at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, 524 N. Park Avenue, Fond du Lac, WI, with funeral service to follow. Burial will take place at Rienzi Cemetery
