--John Michael Funk, 75, of Waterloo, formerly of Edgewood and Elkader, died Tuesday, Feb. 19, of complications from a fall while visiting family in Kansas City, Kan.
--He was born Feb. 26, 1926, in rural Edgewood, son of Lloyd and Anna Funk. He marries Esther Loecke on Oct. 2, 1954. She preceded him in death.
--Mr. Funk farmed near Elkader and also had worked at John Deere.
--Survived by: four sons, Lloyd and David, both of Olathe, Kan., Michael of Rotonda, Fla., and Daniel of Maynard; three daughters, Marilyn Gonzales of Houston, Colleen Meyers of Murfreesboro, Tenn., and Loretta Funk of Elkader; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Tom of Edgewood and Vincent of Dallas, Texas.
--Preceded in death by: a brother, Richard; and an infant sister.
--Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Mark's Catholic Church, Edgewood, with burial in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 9 p.m. Friday at Leonard Funeral Home, Edgewood, where there will be a 3 p.m. Scripture service. Visitation also for an hour before services Saturday at the church.
