NOTE:
Samuel Buell and his wife were probably buried in this cemetery. They lived here and lots of their families were buried here. They were not mentioned in Hale Collections, 1934, the headstones may have not exist in 1934, which is not unusual for very old headstones. It should be noted that there are several stones in the Buell sections and the initials ended with a "B".

Killingworth used to cover a large swath of land, but in 1838, it was divided into two: Killingworth (north section) and Clinton (south section).

Lived in Windsor CT until he moved to Killingworth. "One Branch of the Booth Family Showing the Lines of Connection with One Hundred Massachusetts Bay Colonists", by Charles Edwin Booth, 1910, page 106.

Samuel Buell was one of the earliest settlers at Killingworth in 1664. He was Deputy in 1692, 1693, 1696, 1697, 1698, 1700, 1701, 1702, 1704, 1706, 1708, 1710, 1711, 1714, 1715.

Samuel Buell hewed the timber used in the construction of Old Fort in Springfield; his father-in-law, Edward Griswold, having the contract for the brick and stone work.

Died at age 78 yrs.
