Grace Laverne "Gracie" Sanders, 62, went home to her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, July 27, 2010. Service: 10 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church of Lakeside. Interment: Azleland Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Biggers Funeral Home. Gracie was born May 16, 1948, in Raymondville to James Bruce Frazier and Grace Laverne Scott Frazier. She was the second of the Frazier sisters. Her family moved to Fort Worth from California when Gracie was 4. She accepted Jesus as her savior at the age of 5 at Fostepco Heights Baptist Church. Her family moved to Shelby Lane when Gracie was 8, and she began attending Azle schools. She graduated from Azle High School in the class of 1966 and continued to serve as class treasurer. She and her family were founding members of First Baptist Church of Lakeside, where she was an active member. Gracie married Tommy Sanders on Feb. 3, 2001, and was employed by Crabtree and Associates for over 30 years where she worked as a bookkeeper. While working there, she touched so many lives that the clients became like family to her. She loved to shop, finding 75 to 80 percent off many of her bargains, and went on many trips with Caleb's Cousins of First Baptist Church of Lakeside. She loved cruising on large ships, and had a good time on many of her adventurous excursions. She was preceded in death by her parents; and sisters, Judy Gardner and Cynthia Adams. Survivors: Husband, Tommy Sanders; sister, Anna Michel and husband, Dwayne; stepchildren, Marc Sanders and wife, DeeDee, Jason Sanders and wife, Jessie, and Vanessa Pham and husband, Andy; nephews, John Gardner, Jay Yates and John Bruce Michel; nieces, Misty Gardner Purner and husband, Jim, and Jodi Yates Lawdermilk and husband, Brian. She was "Granny Gracie" to J.J., Bailey, Ashley, P.J., Charlie and Reyna. She had great-nieces and great-nephews she considered to be her grandchildren, Greyson, Reili, Parker, Audrey, Cooper and Sophia. She is also survived by a brother-in-law, Larry Sanders and wife, Roberta; and sister-in-law, Pat Ferguson and husband, Andy.
