Jasper Johnson, clerk of
courts, dies at age of 61

Jasper C. Johnson, 61, 1420
Apricot St., clerk of courts in
Wood County since 1937, died
unexpectedly at the home of
relatives here Sunday. Death
was due to an apparent heart
attack.
Johnson was pronounced dead
on arrival at Riverview Hospital
about 4:10 p.m. Sunday. He had
become ill shortly before while
visiting at the home of his
wife's parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Anton Shymanski, 510 9th Ave.

Funeral services will be held
at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the
Wilkinson Chapel with the Rev.
Donald Cottom officiating.
Burial will be in Pioneer
Cemetery, the town of Saratoga.
Friends may call at Wilkinson's
from 2 p.m. Tuesday until time
of services.
Johnson's more than 33 years
as clerk of courts here rank
as one of the longest terms for
an elected public office holder
in Wood County....
Johnson was born Feb. 24,
1910 in the town of Saratoga,
