Son of Major Armand Guy "A.G." Hiddingh and Mary Lindsay Hiddingh Tomlinson. Younger brother of Michael Hiddingh and stepson of actor David Tomlinson. Was killed in a murder suicide when his mother Mary Lindsay (who was suffering from depression) grabed John and his brother Michael by the arm and jumped out of the window of a New York Hotel killing John at the age of 6, herself at the age of 34, and Michael at the age of 8. John's father Major Armand Guy "A.G." Hiddingh was killed in action during World War II on November 22nd 1941 and his stepfather David Tomlinson who was serving in the R.A.F. at the time of John's death, died on June 24th 2000 at the age of 83.
