Jane Clough, murdered tragically at 8:20 pm on Sunday, July 25th, 2010. Jane, aged 26 years of Barrowford, a deeply loved and treasured mum, daughter, sister and granddaughter, who touched the lives of many people, will be greatly missed by all her family and friends. A funeral service was held on Tuesday, August 10th at St. Thomas' Church, Barrowford, followed by cremation at Burnley Crematorium. The Rev. Hallows officiated. Family flowers only please by request, but donations if desired are being received for Rape Crisis, c/o Helliwells Funeral Service, Stott House, Burnley Road, Colne. Jane was viciously stabbed 71 times as she returned to her car after a shift as a registered nurse at Blackpool's Victoria Hospital A&E department. She had only recently returned to work after a maternity leave. Shocked colleagues rushed outside to help stem the blood flow, but she died shortly afterwards. North West Ambulance Service technician Jonathan Vass, of Preston, was charged and convicted of her murder, and given a life sentence.
