Capt McSorley was at the helm of the Ill-fated Edmund Fitzgerald when it went down in Lake Suprior during a storm. His body was never recovered. This is a cenotaph placed next to his wife's grave. A monument to the memorial of the captain and the other 28 souls lost that day stands at the Great Lakes Ship Wreck Museum in Paradise. Michigan.
