ABEL, Joseph Patrick Born August 24, 1941, Nashville, TN, passed away December 28, 2011. Graduate of Assumption School & Father Ryan. Served as US Marine. Survived by wife, Shirley; children, Dawn, Chris, Jeff & Diane; 4 grandchildren & 2 great grandchildren; sisters, Marcia, Veronica & Cynthia; brother, William, & many nieces & nephews. Preceded by mother & father, Essie Leonia & Charles Elmer Abel; sisters, Essie, Anna, Gloria & Clare & brother, Charles. He touched many lives as he was a man that people came to in need. He was dearly loved & will certainly be missed. According to Pat's wife's obituary, she and Pat will be inurned together at Hermitage Memorial Gardens.

Pat was not a police officer with but I have to say that he was dedicated to the men and women who died in service to the badge. Pat has maintained this grave info for many years and upon his passing, he gave this responsibility to me. Pat genuinely respected those who gave their ultimate sacrifice and deserves to be entered among those on these pages. He maintained these pages for more than 10 years before he passed away. Thank you Pat for memorializing all these men and women.
