In Rancho Palos Verdes, California, she worked from 1977 to 1994 as the director of the child care center at the Salvation Army College for Officer Training at Crestmont, 30840 Hawthorne Blvd., Rancho Palos Verdes.

An active member of Rolling Hills Covenant Church, on Palos Verdes Dr N, Rolling Hills Estates, she made many friends. Naomi enjoyed traveling, reading, and walking by the ocean, but she most enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.

She passed away on October 31, 2010 in Laguna Niguel, California. She was preceded in death by her husband Ronald in 1980 and her second husband Robert in 2007.
She was survived by three children, and seven grandchildren.

She began teaching preschool at First Baptist Church of Rochester and when she and Ronald moved to Rancho Palos Verdes, CA in 1977, she became employed by the Salvation Army College for Officer Training as the director of the child care center. She worked there for 17 years, retiring in 1994. Naomi was a member of Rolling Hills Covenant Church, where she was active in her Voyager's group, led a Bible Study and made many friends. She married Robert Strain Risley on January 27, 1996, after being widowed for 16 years. Naomi enjoyed traveling, reading, and walking by the ocean, but she most enjoyed spending time with her children and her seven grandchildren. Naomi was predeceased by her husband Ronald in 1980 and her second husband Robert in 2007. Her three children survive her, Ronald Cameron, Terald Cameron and Barbara Massrey, along with their spouses, Kathleen, Sandra, and Kenneth, as well as seven grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 27, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Margaret's Episcopal Church, 31641 La Novia Avenue in San Juan Capistrano, CA, with a reception following the service.
