She was born to father, Tafaovale Ainu'u of Leone, and mother, Agatupu Utu Ainu'u of Amouli, both of American Samoa. In 1963, she married Lakopo "Jake" Manai, who died in 1979. In 1999, twenty years after his passing, she married Malu Tupuola, of Carson, CA, who passed in 2001. She left her strong faith in God to her children and her unconditional and heartfelt love to her wonderful and amazing grandchildren, George, Agatupu, Matthew, and David.
