Hot Springs – Delbert D. Crabtree, 89, Hot Springs, died Saturday, March 22, 2014 at Rapid City Regional Hospital.

Arrangements are pending with Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home with inurnment to take place at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis, at a later date.

Delbert Dale Crabtree was born June 23, 1924 at Spencer, Nebraska to Charles Henry and Isabelle Miranda [Duncan] Crabtree. The family moved to Winner, South Dakota where Delbert grew to adulthood and attended school.

He then entered the United States Navy on November 20, 1942 and serviced as a Gunner's Mate Third Class. He was honorably discharged on January 13, 1946.

Delbert married Alberta Minnie Horst on September 27, 1949 at Mission, South Dakota. He was involved with forestry and farming.

Delbert was preceded in death by his parents; son: Lee Crabtree; brother: Lorie Crabtree; brother: Lionel Crabtree; sister: Ila McKenzie; sister: Zelda Anderson; sister: Maxine Jelinek; sister; Novella Crabtree; sister: Ethelda Manhalter; and baby brother: Clayton Crabtree.
