Obituary

Emma Foy, wife of Gideon Foy of Kaw township, died of consumption August 10th at 5 p.m. Mrs. Foy's maiden name was Chilson. She has lived near Silver Lake since she was about three years old, where three of her brothers now reside. less than three years ago she was married to Mr. Foy. Mrs. Foy was highly esteemed by all her acquaintances and greatly beloved by a large circle of friends. She died near Wabaunsee at the residence of Mr. Foy's father. A large number of the people of the neighborhood gathered at the cemetery near Mr. Greenwood's to meet the procession that came with the remains from Wabaunsee, and be present at the interment. She has been for several years a member of the M.E. church and died trusting in Christ. The impressive burial service of her church was read at the grave.

A funeral service in her memory will be held at the Greenwood school house Sept.6th, at 11 a.m.

Mrs. Gideon Foy, of the Kaw Valley, died last week at the residence of near friends in Wabaunsee, Kan., and was buried on Friday last in the cemetery at Greenwood. Mr. Foy has the sympathy of many friends in his bereavement. An obituary notice will be observed elsewhere in these columns.
