Ann was the daughter of Samuel Griffen and Mary Rees. She was probably born in Duck Creek Hundred, today near Smyrna, DE. She married Enoch Jones about 1792-93.

By 1800, Enoch & Ann had 4 children, a boy and three girls. Shortly thereafter, they removed to Monongalia Co., VA (now WVA), where Enoch had purchased about 800 acres along the Monongahela River, between Robinson's Run and Scott's Run. By 1810, they had 8 children: 4 boys and 4 girls. By 1820, their family consisted of 6 boys and 5 girls, and it appears that some of their girls had married or otherwise left the home by this date.

After Ann's death in 1821, Enoch removed to Kentucky, where he married Sally, widow of Joseph Holliday, who had 4 children.

Ann is said to be buried on the Jones Farm, probably near Maidsville, Monongalia Co., WVa. Apparently, there are other relatives also buried there (possibly Sanders/Saunders), although the exact location of this cemetery, and whether it continues to exist, is yet unknown.
