She lived in Oakland, CA and later move to Colorado Springs, CO where she joined People's United Methodist Church, where she served as the pianist. She attended public school in Guthrie, OK and Langston University, Langston, OK. She taught third grade at Lincoln Public School and later the fourth grade at Page Elementary School. She retired from Tinker Air Force Base. Upon her return to Guthrie se attended Macedonia Baptist Church Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church, St. Paul AME Church and True Light Church.
