Richard C. Austin age 86 of St. Clair formerly of Dearborn died July 7, 2008.
Richard was born in Detroit, June 24, 1922 to the late William and Rose (nee Valliere) Austin.
He married Shirley Schmidt.

Richard was a veteran of WW II serving in the Army Air Corps. He was a 1st Lieutenant, Pilot, Air Craft Commander B24, with the 15th Army Air Force, 454th Bomb Group Heavy, 738th Bomb Squadron Heavy. He served in 29 combat missions.

Richard was retired from the Detroit Edison where he was an engineer.

He is survived by his wife Shirley, his son Ronald (Maria) Austin and daughter Nancy (David) Woodburn; grand children Wendy, Sarah and Jasmine; great grand children Cameron and Julia.

Visiation Friday in the L. C. Friederichs & Son Funeral Home from 11 AM till 1 PM when services will be held, Father Greg Deters officiating.

Burial will be in Great Lakes National Cemtery, Holly, Michigan at 1 PM Monday.

Memorials may be made to the Cancer Society or American Heart Association.
