LOUIS ROBERT ADAMS 74, a thirty year resident of Columbus Township died Tuesday, January 6, 2009 in Henry Ford Macomb Hospital after a extended illness. Mr. Adams was born November 24, 1934 in Grand Rapids, Michigan to the late Lewis and Barbara (Sherwood) Adams.

He married Esther Jolly in Gaylord, Michigan on August 24, 1959.

Louis retired from Equitable Insurance Company as an insurance manager. Prior to that he was a Michigan State Trooper for ten years.

He was a Korean War veteran serving with the United States Navy.

He was a member and Past Commander of the V.F.W. Richmond Post and enjoyed fishing.

He is survived by his wife, Esther, sons, Louis of Las Vegas, Martin of Mississippi and Victor of Pennsylvania, siblings, Bonnie (Alan) Wier of Grand Rapids, Ruth Myers of Las Vegas, George (Marilyn) Adams of Grand Rapids, Larry Adams of Fountain, Amy (Dan) Carnes of Muskegon and John Johnston, grandchildren, Natasha, Amanda, Anna, Julie and Seth Adams and great-grandchildren, Cohen and Gavin Scruggs.

He was predeceased by his sister, Barbara Johnston.

Cremation arrangements were handled by Rewalt Funeral Home, Richmond.

Mr. Adams's ashes will be interred in the Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan at 1:00pm on Friday, January 9, 2009 with full military honors.
