Willmond B. "Bill" Allen, age 83, of St. Clair, died Tuesday, January 6, 2009.
Bill was born August 20, 1925 in St. Clair to the late Willmond and Mamie (Pauly) Allen.
He was a veteran of WWII serving in the Marines and was retired from Ford Motor.
Bill was a member of American Legion, Charles Hammond Post 382, St. Clair, VFW Post 140, the 40/8, St. Mary's Church and the St. Clair K of C.
He married Rachel McWherter September 9, 1944 in San Diego.
Bill is survived by his wife, Rachel; two sons, Bill (Karen) Allen and Rick (Rita) Allen; grandchildren, Dan (Stacey) and Shaun (Tara); his sister, Norma Thomson; and two brothers, Jim and Jack Allen.
Bill was preceded in death by his brothers, Donald, Eldon, and Kenny, and his sisters, Pauline, Jean LaGrow, and Audrey Polen.
Visitation is Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the L.C. Friederichs & Son Funeral Home, with a Rosary at 7 p.m. In state Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, St. Clair, from 9:30 a.m. until Mass at 10:00 a.m.
Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
