Mr. James F. Atkinson, 70, of Okemos, died Saturday, June 27, 2009. He was born May 12, 1939 in Port Huron to the late Harvey and Hannah Atkinson.
He was a graduate of Michigan State University and served in the United States Army Reserves.
He is survived by a daughter, Julie (Stephen) Kufchock; his longtime companion, Ann LeFurge; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Harvey Atkinson and a sister, Virginia Ploeger.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 2, 2009 in Lakeside Cemetery Chapel, Port Huron. The Reverend Michelle Brown will officiate.
Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association.
