Bob Kerr was a man of many talents. As a high school senior, he was signed by the Boston Red Sox as a pitcher. After several years in the minor leagues, he decided that professional baseball was not for him.

He then indulged in his love of cooking, opening a restaurant in his hometown, Arvada, CO. Family obligations called, so he gave up the restaurant business and returned home to care for his aging parents.

Bob loved organic gardening. He worked with a small space, but grew lots of vegetables and herbs for the family table. He once said that a bug wouldn't dare come into his garden! He was out tending it every day, and kept records that helped him improve it every year. Of course, his garden contributed to delicious meals prepared for the family.

In his spare time, he became an expert "wood turner", creating beautiful works of art, like bowls, from his lathe. He enjoyed researching and understanding the nature of every type of wood that he turned. He seemed to be especially attracted to working with native Colorado aspen - rarely found in woodworking.

He died single, having never met the "right" woman to marry, and living most of his life in Arvada, Colorado.
