Graveside services for Linda Preece Adams, 55, of Copperas Cove, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen.
Mrs. Adams died Dec. 16, 2012, at her home. She was born Feb. 9, 1957, in Killeen to the late James Wayne and Susie Pruitt Preece as the youngest of 10 children. She was raised in the Bell County area. attending school in Salado, Belton, Temple and a few others. She received her GED diploma in 1985 in Colorado Springs, Colo., at St. Mary's Adult Education, which was one of her proudest moments.
She married Alan Wayne Adams, the love of her life, in Temple on April 27, 1974. She enjoyed working at numerous places while her husband served in the Army. They included First Texas Bank of Copperas Cove, Winn Dixie and the Army Air Force Exchange Service Auto Parts Store while in Europe.
In recent years she enjoyed genealogy and crafts. She also taught herself to sew and enjoyed chatting with her numerous friends on the Internet, but most of all, she loved spending time with her family.
Mrs. Adams was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Frankie Barrow, Betty Lewis, Pat Maxwell and Georgia Cox.
Survivors include her husband, Alan Wayne Adams; children, Alan Adams Jr. and his wife, Amy, of San Antonio and Jennifer Matthews and her husband, Roy, of Liberty Hill; granddaughter, Emma Nicole Matthews; step-grandchildren, Laurel and Kyle Matthews; siblings, Ed Preece and his wife, Robin, of Belton, Kay Benjamin and her husband, Lynn, of Copperas Cove, James Wayne Preece Jr. and his wife, Lou, of Kempner, Elizabeth Tegeler of St. Charles, Mo., and Thelma Welke of Michigan; and numerous nieces and nephews.
