Mr. Jerry Glenn Agan, age 54, of Cave Spring, passed away on Wednesday, July 10, 2013, at a local hospital.

Mr. Agan was born in Floyd County, Georgia on October 10, 1958, son of Thelma Delores Wiggins Wright and the late Charles Arthur Agan. He was also preceded in death by his step-father, R. C. Wright, his step-mother, Annie Agan, brothers, Donald Agan, Leonard Agan, John William Agan, Rev. James Franklin Agan, and Rev. Arthur Lawrence Agan, by 2 sisters, Patty Fritz and Rebecca Hutchins, and by a goddaughter, Kaylee Parker. Mr. Agan was a member of the Farrill Baptist Church. He worked for a number of years as a welder/fabricator and was the owner and operator of Agan's Auto Shop for several years. He played in a country band named the Dixie Bandits for a number of years. He also played a star roll in Dixie Times, The Movie as a gas station attendant. Mr. Agan wrote two songs "Have a Little Mercy" and "Fooled by Your Love".

Survivors include his wife, the former Stacey Whitehead; his mother, Thelma Delores Wright, Rome; a daughter, Mrs. Shannon Benson, and her husband, Scott, Adairsville; a son, Charles Glenn Agan, and his wife, Julie, Rome; step-children, Stacy Bearden, and her husband, Lawrence, Cartersville, Donald Whitehead, Rome, and Michelle Whitehead, Rome; a brother, Jason Wright, and his wife, Misty, Rome; a sister, Frances Clark, Cartersville; step-brothers, 8 grandchildren; special friends, Anita Reece, Larry Byars, Diane Walker, and D. L. and Amanda Smith; a godson, Derek Smith; nieces and nephews; and was awaiting the arrival of his first great grandchild.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2013, at 2pm in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, with the Rev. Jackie Culberson, the Rev. Greg Gardner, and Bro. Marty Phelps officiating. Interment will follow in Rome Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, on Saturday from 12 noon until the service time. At other hours, they may be contacted at each of their respective residences.

Both active and honorary pallbearers are asked to assemble at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, on Saturday at 1:30pm and include: Active: Russell Smith, Ryan Smith, Scott Benson, D. L. Smith, Donald Whitehead, and Lawrence Bearden. Honorary: Jeff Franks, Jordan Hewell, Mark Agan, and special honorary pallbearers Kodi Smith, Dayden Agan, and Lawson Bearden.
