Mr. Stewart was born in Cleburne County, Ala., May 12, 1900, but resided most of his life in Cedartown. He was a veteran of World War I and a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church.
Survivors are his widow, Mrs. Flossie Molock Stewart, Cedartown; two sons, Verlon Stewart, Cedartown and James B. Stewart, Jr., Nashville, Tenn.; one daughter, Mrs. Elsie Mock, St. Augustine, Fla.; one brother, Boyd Stewart, Piedmont, Ala.; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Lester C. Litesey Funeral Home, Cedartown, with the Rev. Leroy Cooper officiating. Interment was in Wimberly Hills Cemetery.
