George was the son of Edward Thomas Brimmer & Chloe Adriana (Teel) Brimmer of Yermo, San Bernardino County, California.

George died from a massive heart attack in Kelso, San Bernardino County, California. He was working as an engineer for the railroad and had just finished a run about 1:30 in the morning. (Source: his son Bill).

George and his wife Dorothy had a son and a daughter. In 1940 George and Dorothy and their two children lived in Montebello, Los Angeles, California.

His father Edward was a "stationary engineer for the steam railroad" (Los Angeles and Salt Lake Railroad, now part of the Union Pacific) in Yermo, California in 1930. The family moved to Yermo on 25 Dec of 1918. Edward T. Brimmer & Chloe Adriana (Teel) Brimmer had three daughters and six sons.
