Grandpa Fischer [Diedrich Fischer] , father of Mrs. Carl Stettler, died in this city Monday night, March 17th, aged 87 years. The remains were sent to Herkimer, Kansas, for burial. F. fischer was well and favorably known in this city where he resided during the past three years. He was a man with a remarkable history. He was born in England in 1815 and has resided in Germany and has been several years in the United States.
