Obituary: Ara Ash of Melbourne, daughter of the late Worthy Ash and Martha Bradley Ash, died Sunday, August 30, 1992 in the Pioneer Nursing Home in Melbourne at the age of 101. She was born April 26, 1891 in Carrollton, Arkansas. Ash had been a farmer and was a factory worker. She was a member of the Melbourne First Baptist Church and had never been married. She leaves to mourn her death nieces and nephews and many friends. Services were held Tuesday September 1, 1992 at 2 p.m. in the First Baptist Church in Melbourne with Brother Carter Tucker officiating. Pallbearers were Gayle Cooper, Fred Blankenship, Paul Grey Miller, Dean Floyd, Glen Billingsley and T.J. Harris. Interment in the Combs Cemetery in Melbourne, under the direction of the Howard Funeral Home in Melbourne Memorials are asked to be made to the First Baptist Church.
