FREDONIA - Evangeline C. Alliston, 101, Fredonia, died Sunday, April 20, 2003, at Beverly Health & Rehab, Fredonia.

She was born June 9, 1901, in Butler County, the daughter of Oliver and Nora Nicholson Hanshaw.

She was a 1921 graduate of Andover High School.

She was a farm wife and homemaker.

On Feb. 18, 1922, she married Lyle R. Alliston. He died Oct. 28, 1989.

Survivors include two daughters, Doris Studebaker, Fredonia, and Shirley Farmer, Golden City, Mo.; six grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, April 25, at the Fredonia City Cemetery, led by Brother John Cohee.

Visitation is from 9 a.m. - noon Friday.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. - noon Friday at the funeral home.

Memorials to the American Heart Association may be left with the funeral home.
