Carl was born August 10, 1923, to Bert P. and Ida F. (Perry) Hall in Columbus, KS. He was reared in Claremore, OK and Columbus, KS graduating from Columbus High School in 1941. After high school he attended Pittsburgh State University. While at college Carl decided to enlist in the Army. He served his country for several years before being honorably discharged. After leaving the military, Carl returned to Pitt State where he finished his Bachelors Degree and also earned his Masters Degree in Teaching.
On August 4, 1951, Carl married Dorothy Viele in Rogers, AR. The couple made their home in Arkansas City. He taught Math in at Ark City Junior High from 1951 to 1954. They then moved to Wichita where he taught Math at Roosevelt Jr. High until his retirement in 1974. Carl was a member of the Plymouth Congregational Church in Wichita, a 32nd degree Mason, and member of the Classic Car Club and Horses Carriage Club.
Survivors include his daughter Nancy Slack and husband Gale of Wichita, KS; and a grandson, Jason Slack of Blacksburg, VA.
Carl was preceded in death by his parent, and his wife.
